Tea Recipe: Matcha Lemonade
As summer is very much upon us, I thought I’d share one of my favourite tea-infused refreshments, the Matcha Lemonade.
Sweet, tangy, and chock-full of antioxidants (some reports say as much as 137 times more antioxidants than regular green tea!), this bright green drink will make this a summer to remember, or a part of a fun family dinner!
Here’s how to make it:
Tea Recipe to Make Matcha Lemonade
- 250ml fresh-squeezed lemonade (recipe follows)
- 1/2 teaspoon Matcha, sifted to remove lumps
- 60ml gin or vodka, optional
In a cocktail shaker filled with ice, combine all ingredients and shake thoroughly for 20 seconds, then strain into your favourite glass.
Fresh-Squeezed Lemonade
- 2 cups sugar
- 1 cup hot water
- 2 cups fresh-squeezed lemon juice (from approx 8-10 lemons)
- 3.5L of cold water
In a 4L container, place sugar and hot water, and stir until sugar dissolves. Add lemon juice and just enough cold water to make 3.5L. Stir until well mixed.
