How Is NeoSoilon® Made?

The PLA resin in NeoSoilon® is created through a fermentation process using sugarcane and enzymes. This natural process results in an aliphatic polyester resin that can be melted and spun into fibres. These fibres are then woven into a fine mesh, perfect for brewing whole tea leaves without impacting the final taste. 

The sugar used to create the PLA resin is sourced directly from Thailand, where sugarcane crops are always GMO-free. NeoSoilon® is certified by the Non-GMO Project. This makes it the perfect choice for packaging organic teas, ensuring completely certified organic tea products from farm to cup.

In industrial composting facilities with controlled temperatures (around 58°C or 140°F), NeoSoilon® can fully break down within 180 days.

In soil or water, NeoSoilon® will eventually break down completely, typically within 3 ± 0.5 years. Factors like temperature, moisture, and the presence of alkaline materials can influence the breakdown rate.
